Calathea makoyana




 One of my favorite plants. Calathea makoyana which is also known as the Peacock plant. Truly magnificent as its top side of the leaf is green and the bottom is purple! Not only that, each of the leaf has a pattern of more leaves!

Characteristics: -Monocot
                          -Sun requirement: Shade, Partial sun
                          -Leaf Characteristics: Simple Leaf, Variegated, Alternate
                                                              Leaf arrangement
                          -Propagation: Division

    today we have been in the botanical garden. And I was also like you fascinated from calathea makoyana.

    Do you know, why that plant has that special pattern (purple, green and at the top a whole? plant?
